This project showcases the user interface design of The Record Store, a fictional e-commerce platform selling vinyl records.
It was developed based on a provided UX wireframe and reflects my visual design sensibility, interest in music culture and attention to digital user experience.
My role covered the entire UI design process, including layout design, visual identity and responsive adaptation for desktop and mobile.
Design process and concept
The core aim of this design was to create a visually appealing, user-friendly interface for music lovers who appreciate the analog charm of vinyl. Based on a given wireframe, I focused on translating structural functionality into a vibrant, engaging and emotionally resonant visual language.
I chose a soft, gradient-based background blending purples and warm tones to evoke both nostalgia and modernity: an aesthetic harmony between the vintage nature of vinyl and the digital context of the store. The typography combines bold, legible headers with a clean sans-serif body font, ensuring readability while maintaining a contemporary feel.
To achieve a consistent UI across desktop and mobile formats, I designed a system with scalable components, adaptable layouts and clear content hierarchies.
Final UI design
The final screens include three key flows: product listing, cart, and checkout, each designed in both desktop and mobile formats.
Product listing
The well-structured information hierarchy ensures a seamless shopping experience, while colorful tags and clean typography guide the user effortlessly through the content.
Cart View
Clean layout with large vinyl cover thumbnails, allowing users to adjust quantities and view totals intuitively.
Checkout Flow
Designed for clarity and ease. Form fields are grouped logically and the summary panel keeps the cost breakdown visible at all times.
